The constable, originally from Bihar, disappeared on Friday while on general duty at the Bharani forward post in the Balakote sector, sources reported.
"Early morning today, an infiltration bid was foiled at the Gen Area Poonch and the joint operation by Indian Army and J&K Police is in progress," the army said.
"Alert troops deployed on the border fence in Balakot detected and neutralised two terrorists so far. Area has been cordoned off and operations are in progress," the Army said.
The body of the jawan reached Darivada Kothapalem in Bapatla Mandal at around 2.30 am. Members of the Ex-Army welfare association of Bapatla Town took out a procession from Bapatla to Darivada Kothapalem.
The discussion between the two armies took place at a time when a large number of ceasefire violations were taking place along the LoC and violence levels were going up
The ceasefire violations across the LoC have increased this year if you compare the figures with last year or the year before that. We have also seen that there has been caliber escalation in terms of artillery being used from across the LoC
