Tension gripped Nagarkurnool town on Tuesday after Congress leaders allegedly tried to pressure a BRS candidate to withdraw his nomination for the 15th ward. The BRS candidate later announced he would remain in the fray, prompting Congress leaders to leave the spot.
Tension erupted in Motinagar as police conducted searches at former BRS MLA Marri Janardhan Reddy’s residence ahead of the Jubilee Hills bypoll. The BRS accused the Congress government of harassment, alleging the operation had no jurisdictional link to Jubilee Hills.
