Khammam police invoked the Preventive Detention Act against two accused allegedly involved in illegally procuring, transporting, storing and selling subsidised PDS rice. Both accused had faced previous cases, but continued their activities, prompting police to take them into custody.
A case under Section 6A of The Essential Commodities Act was booked against the shop and the shop was handed over to Ramanujavarapu fair price shop dealer as additional responsibility.
