Students from government and private schools staged a road blockade on the Lodpalli-Penchikalpet stretch in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, demanding repairs to the rain-damaged road and removal of overgrown trees and bushes. The protesters urged MLA Dr P. Harish Babu and officials to take immediate action, claiming the poor condition of the road was causing injuries and safety risks.
Sirpur MLA Dr. P. Harish Babu’s health deteriorated on the fifth day of his hunger strike against GO 49, which seeks to create a tiger conservation reserve in Kumram Bheem–Asifabad district. BJP cadres demanded urgent medical care and complete withdrawal of the order.
MLA Dr P Harish Babu announced that he would launch an indefinite hunger strike in protest of delay in completing repair works of a high-level bridge across Peddavagu.
