The GHMC has achieved its highest-ever property tax collection of Rs 2,501.25 crore for the 2025-26 financial year. Commissioner RV Karnan credited the success to the One-Time Scheme.

The GHMC has rolled out a ‘One-Time Scheme’ (OTS) for property tax defaulters, offering a 90 percent waiver on accumulated interest. Taxpayers, including those from 27 newly merged Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), must pay the principal amount along with 10 percent of arrears interest in a single payment.
