Property tax: GHMC announces 90 percent interest waiver under One-Time Scheme
The GHMC has rolled out a ‘One-Time Scheme’ (OTS) for property tax defaulters, offering a 90 percent waiver on accumulated interest. Taxpayers, including those from 27 newly merged Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), must pay the principal amount along with 10 percent of arrears interest in a single payment.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced a ‘One-Time Scheme’ for property tax defaulters, offering a waiver of 90 percent on accumulated interest on property tax.
Under this scheme, defaulters can clear the principal amount of property tax dues along with 10 percent of arrears interest on accumulated arrears in a single payment.
The scheme applies to all properties, including private and government properties, within the GHMC limits under the ‘One Time Scheme’ (OTS) for the financial year 2025-26, in an official statement, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan said.
“All the taxpayers of GHMC including the newly merged 27 ULBs in GHMC have to pay 10 percent of arrears interest on accumulated arrears along with principal amount of property tax dues till the year 2025-26 at one go and the payment may be made at the GHMC Citizen Service Centres, bill collectors, Mee-Seva, and Online Mobile app,” said the Commissioner.
