PDS rice smuggling networks are thriving across Telangana, with syndicates diverting ration supplies from beneficiaries and transporting them to neighbouring States. Police across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri have seized large quantities of rice in multiple raids over the past week.
Police reported that a case has been filed against three unidentified individuals for assaulting Imran Khan, a resident of Dwarakanagar in the town. According to Khan, the attackers targeted him, accusing him of revealing information about PDS rice smugglers to the authorities. He claimed that they branded him a police informant before physically assaulting him.
