Unknown persons attack youngster for tipping off cops on PDS rice smugglers in Asifabad

Police reported that a case has been filed against three unidentified individuals for assaulting Imran Khan, a resident of Dwarakanagar in the town. According to Khan, the attackers targeted him, accusing him of revealing information about PDS rice smugglers to the authorities. He claimed that they branded him a police informant before physically assaulting him.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Unknown persons thrashed a youngster alleging that he was sharing information with the police on diversion of PDS rice in Kagaznagar on Wednesday.

Police said that a case was registered against three unidentified persons for assaulting Imran Khan from Dwarakanagar in the town. Khan alleged that the assailants attacked him accusing him of disclosing the details of PDS rice smugglers to the police. He said that they labeled him as an informer of police before thrashing him.

It may be recalled that three drivers and another person from Kagaznagar were arrested for allegedly smuggling the rice grains at Hudkili village in Sirpur (T) mandal on Tuesday. Police seized 208 quintals of rice worth Rs 7.48 lakh from the four and three vans. The accused persons were Isaq Ahmed, Mohammad Kaleem, drivers, and Syed Arif and Mohammad Raziq.
