Nearly 30,000 postgraduate seats remained vacant after the first phase of CPGET 2026 counselling in Telangana. Of 47,237 convener-quota seats, 17,586 were allotted, while 23,122 candidates exercised web options. Women accounted for the larger share of applicants and allotments
Telangana has shifted admissions for five-year integrated UG–PG programmes to the DOST portal, replacing CPGET. Around 370 seats are available across state universities in courses like MSc and MBA. Eligible Intermediate students can now apply online.
Releasing the notification, Principal Secretary to Government (Education), Burra Venkatesham said CPGET is more convenient for students seeking PG admission instead of attending various universities entrance tests.
