A woman from Kota (K) village in Sonala mandal, Adilabad district, has accused a contractor of using substandard materials to build her house under the Indiramma housing scheme and then coercing her family to sign a promissory note for Rs 6.30 lakh.
Suryapet police solved the murder of a 60-year-old woman, who was killed by a borrower and his minor nephew in Huzurnagar. The duo intoxicated and smothered her before looting gold jewellery and a promissory note. The stolen items were melted and hidden in Vijayawada.
