The DCR policy mandates that specific projects, especially those associated with subsidies and the CPSU (Central Public Sector Undertakings) scheme, use solar panels that are domestically manufactured, leaving the consumers left with no choice but to purchase solar panels at higher rates from the empaneled companies
Telangana Solar Energy Association (TSEA) president B. Ashok Kumar Goud explained that when a new solar panel is installed on a residential building, the priority is to adjust any surplus energy generated against the following month's usage. After six months, the discom is required to compensate the customer for any remaining surplus units as per their agreement.
In a move to make government schools smarter and reduce power consumption and electricity cost, the State government has planned to set up solar energy projects in around 1,521 schools.
TSREDCO GM stated that discussion on the scheme was going on with StreeNidhi officials and once all the modalities were finalised, they would help in setting up grid solar rooftops.
