Chavan, who took charge as Municipal Commissioner in February 2024, organised a special tour to the Tulja Bhavani temple in Maharashtra on June 3. Two private buses were hired for the trip, carrying a large number of municipal employees considered loyal to him. However, none of the employees had applied for leave or informed higher authorities of their absence.
