SFI activists tried to storm the residence of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar in Karimnagar, protesting the state government’s delay in releasing fee reimbursement funds. Police foiled the attempt, detained protesters, and SFI leaders demanded immediate release of pending student dues.

A peaceful protest was called, however, the police pre-arrested 298 SFI activists from Monday night itself

Irked at the shortage of teachers, the students boycotted classes and staged a flash protest along with their parents.

The governor, who was on his way to attend a function, stepped out from his car and rushed towards the protestors loudly chastising the activists. He also expressed his ire at policemen for not arresting the SFI workers who showed black flags and staged a protest against him.

The girl, was allegedly locked up by a group of SFI activists inside the Union Room of the college from 3 pm to 4:30 pm on Monday.
