The Telangana RTC strike has officially ended after marathon talks with the government. Following worker protests, commuter disruption, and the tragic death of driver Shankar Goud, employees secured pay fitment, union elections, and merger discussions—but several long-term concerns remain unresolved.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao termed RTC driver Shankar Goud’s death a “State murder,” alleging government failure and betrayal of workers. He demanded Rs 1 crore compensation, a government job for the family, and urged talks to resolve RTC issues.
After launching the vaccination programme at the district headquarters hospital, the legislator received the vaccine along with staff of private hospitals.
