Serious injuries from in-flight turbulence are rare, but scientists say they may be becoming more common as climate change alters the jet stream

A Singapore Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Bangkok on Tuesday due to severe turbulence, killing one person and injuring 71 others.

The Boeing 777-300ER departed from London on Monday and encountered severe turbulence en route. It had to be diverted to Bangkok, where it landed on Tuesday, the airline said in a post on Facebook.
