Sonu Nigam has extended all shows of his Satrangi Re India tour to a three-hour non-stop performance after strong public demand. The new format will debut in Hyderabad on November 29, following a record Mumbai show attended by over 13,000 fans.

On his 52nd birthday, Sonu Nigam launched his new single ‘Kahani Meri’ and announced the 7-city Satrangi Re India Tour. Themed around seven emotional colours of love, the tour begins soon with ticket sales opening on August 1.

A heartfelt moment at the concert was when Sonu invited the children of both his gurus - Mohammed Rafi and Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan on stage.

The singer took to his Instagram recently and shared an update as he denied the occurrence of any stone-throwing petting, though a few things were hurled at the singer during his performance. These things include a smoking device and a headgear that goes by the name “Pookie band”.

Rafi, the voice behind the movie greats like Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Guru Dutt, Dharmendra and many other leading stars, passed away at the age of 55 in 1980 due to a heart attack. Nigam was only seven at the time.

In the video, Sonu is heard speaking in Hindi, where he said: “Delegates came from all over the world to enhance the pride of Rajasthan. There was a CM, a youth minister, a sports minister. There were a lot of people. I could not see all of them in the dark. There were a lot of people.”
