BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao alleged serious safety lapses at the Santosh Nagar–Chanchalguda steel bridge site, citing unregulated crane operations and lack of protective gear, and demanded accountability from GHMC officials and the construction agency.
Over the past decade, Hyderabad has increasingly turned to steel bridges to ease traffic congestion. Faster construction, minimal land acquisition and seismic suitability have helped the city build multiple steel bridges, with several more projects underway.
