The School Education Department has declared November as ‘Special Attendance Month’ and directed all government schools to strive for 100 per cent attendance of students and staff. District education officials have been asked to closely monitor attendance through the facial recognition system and track prolonged absences.
The Jogulamba Gadwal DEO issued show-cause notices to 36 school headmasters for failing to record student attendance via the FRS app. While 36 schools had under 40 per cent attendance, five didn’t update records at all. Disciplinary action may follow
