Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urged Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal to establish a larger data centre and AI infrastructure campus in Telangana. Sunil Mittal said the company was considering Hyderabad as Airtel's second headquarters and would expand its operations.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Bharti Enterprises founder Sunil Bharti Mittal in Amaravati to discuss strengthening the state’s digital infrastructure. The meeting comes as Airtel Nxtra partners in the $15 billion Google AI Data Centre project in Visakhapatnam.
Sunil Bharti Mittal said he plans to hand over Bharti Airtel leadership to the next generation and aims for Bharti Telecom to regain a controlling stake. He also outlined long-term strategies for stake consolidation, Airtel Africa expansion, and sustained shareholder returns
"I am glad that this is being followed through with active announcements of partnerships between satellite companies and telecom operators," he said in a statement.
The announcement comes as OneWeb gears up for its eighth launch on July 1, delivering much-anticipated and strategically valuable Arctic region coverage down to 50 degrees latitude.
