Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy has asked officials to expedite environmental clearances for the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project in Khammam district.
Telangana had formally requested the postponement, citing a crucial meeting on April 24 of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), led by Union Jal Shakti Secretary Debashree Mukherjee, which is set to review the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Scheme and the Seetamma Sagar multipurpose project
The time it is likely to take for DPR approval may range up to one year. It depends on the completeness of the DPR and other technical aspects to be complied for its consideration. Otherwise, the process may take several years.
