More than 1,000 players and officials went into a two-week quarantine from January 14 when the first of 17 flights chartered by Tennis Australia landed in Melbourne and Adelaide.
A total of 47 players from the two affected flights — arriving from Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi — are now in strictly enforced 14-day quarantine without the ability to leave their hotel rooms
The tournament is scheduled to start on January 18. But questions remain over quarantine arrangements for players and their entourages — an estimated 2,500 people.
