The All-India Joint Action Committee of Teachers’ Organisations (AIJACTO) has urged the Central government to intervene in the Supreme Court ruling that requires all in-service teachers appointed before the RTE Act to clear the TET within two years or risk losing their jobs.
Thirty-five teacher unions in Telangana protested, demanding service rule implementation, filling of vacant DEO and MEO posts, release of pending bills, and Pay Revision Commission implementation. They also supported the February 5 Parliament march against mandatory TET certification for in-service teachers.
