The Telangana State Power Employees Joint Action Committee urged the State government to reconsider its plan to establish a third DISCOM and demanded immediate formation of a consultative committee for the upcoming Wage Revision 2026 for electricity employees
TGPEJAC staged a protest in Hyderabad against DISCOMs for issuing transfer policy guidelines without consulting unions. The unions argued that transfers should be scheduled after the academic year and summer action plan to avoid disruption.
The Association during its general body meeting on Sunday, strongly opposed the joint venture and urged the government to hand over construction of the plant exclusively to GENCO.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government did not mind handing over the construction work to Genco, but they should be in the position to take up the project on their own.
