The Telangana Retired Electricity Engineers Association has decided to appeal to the Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission to reject the proposed TGRPDCL licence application. The association alleged legal and technical shortcomings and raised concerns over the proposed separate DISCOM for agriculture and government services
TGRPDCL Chairman Musharraf Faruqui announced that the state’s renewable energy capacity stood at 10,642 MW in 2025–26, with plans to scale up to 29,645 MW by 2029–30. Addressing farmers in Rangareddy, he highlighted the effective implementation of the PM-KUSUM scheme, which allows farmers to set up solar plants on agricultural and barren lands.
