With 354 new deaths, the death toll in India has soared up to 1,62,468. There are 5,52,566 active cases in the nation as of now.

With this, the total number of cases and the death toll in the country has surged to 1,20,95,855 and 1,62,114 respectively. The country also saw 37,028 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative cases reached 1,19,71,624 including 1,13,23,762 recoveries, 4,86,310 active infections. The death toll reached 1,61,552.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state due to COVID-19 with 2,82,451 active coronavirus cases in the state.

With the addition of fresh infections, the total cases in the country reached 1,15,55,284, including 2,88,394 active cases and 1,11,07,332 recoveries.

With the addition of fresh infections, the total number positive cases in the country reached 1,13,33,728, including 2,02,022 active cases and 1,09,73,260 recoveries.

The country's overall COVID-19 cases tally has reached 1,11,92,088, including 1,80,304 active cases while the death toll has mounted to 1,57,656.

"The actual numbers could vary up to 2 crore since the portal can register 4 beneficiaries with just one mobile number. We count only the mobile numbers, so I think the figures may be more than that," Ram Sevak Sharma, chairman of the empowered panel said.

The ministry noted that the highest participation in the vaccination drive on Monday was seen in five states -- Uttar Pradesh (50,201), Karnataka (21,669), West Bengal (23,580), Maharashtra (22,979) and Bihar (19,501).

States told to gear up for Phase II drive

The cumulative caseload in the country reached 1,05,71,773 including 2,08,012 active cases. With 14,457 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients climbed to 1,02,11,342. The deaths in India due to COVID-19 mounted to 1,52,419.

There are 2,08,826 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which constitute 1.98 per cent of the total caseload, the data showed.

Giving an update on Covid vaccination, the health ministry said 3,352 vaccination sessions were held and 1,91,181 beneficiaries vaccinated on Saturday

The new discharges reported in the state are 253 making the total discharges reach 2,85,102. However, two deaths succumbed to the deadly virus in the state making the total death toll touch 1,574.

With 15,975 discharges in the last 24 hours, the cumulative recoveries reached 1,01,62,738. The death toll has gone up to 1,51,918.

With 17,817 discharges in the last 24 hours, the cumulative recoveries reached 1,01,29,111. The death toll has gone up to 1,51,529.

Says final decision with government, all norms followed in vaccine approval

Of the 20 cases, eight have been registered at National Centre for Disease Control in Delhi, 7 at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences in Bangalore, two at Cellular and Molecular Biology in Hyderabad.
