National award-winning Hindustani classical vocalist Mahesh Kale will perform his immersive concert ‘Swarsandhya’ in Hyderabad on January 17 at Shilpakala Vedika, Hitec City. Known for his mastery of Hindustani classical, Natya Sangeet, and devotional music, Kale left a successful engineering career in Silicon Valley to pursue music full-time.
Renowned sitar maestro and composer Niladri Kumar will perform his production Indian Dream in Hyderabad on December 7 at Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur. The concert will showcase India’s musical journey through heritage, innovation and reinvention, featuring Kumar’s invention, the zitar.
Several members of the film fraternity, including Kamal Haasan, Akshay Kumar, A. R. Rahman, Mohanlal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Hansal Mehta, and others, expressed their condolences on his passing. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar paid tribute on social media, sharing an image of Zakir Hussain. He wrote, "Deeply saddened by the demise of Ustad Zakir Hussain Sahab.
