Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s move to send a Singareni officials’ team to VSP for studying the Expression of Interest (EOI), made the union government to temporarily put its plans on hold, Thota Chandrasekhar said
The workers and displaced persons of the steel plant whose relay hunger strike entered the 28th day on Thursday, thanked Rama Rao for expressing solidarity with them in protecting the steel plant which was achieved after 32 persons laid down their lives.

Stating that if it was VSP now, it could well be BHEL and Singareni Collieries Company Limited later and even State governments as well, Rama Rao said the people of Visakhapatnam had fought and achieved the VSP.
