Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday called upon the TRS members to take up door-to-door campaign to explain the people about the decisions of the Centre impacting the interests of Telangana state particularly denial of procurement of paddy.

Speaking at Suryapet assembly constituency level meeting of the party held in Sumangali Function hall here, Jagadish Reddy said that Narendra Modi government has been adopting anti-farmer farmer policies. It has also taken decision not to procure raw rice for the yasangi crop season, which would create hardship to the farmers. He pointed out that Telangana state stood top in the country in the production of paddy. Highest number of farmers in the state would face problem in selling their crop, he added. The TRS leaders and members should gear up to take up door to door campaign to highlight the anti-farmers and anti-poor policies of the Centre. He made it clear that the TRS would continue its fight against the Centre until withdrawal of its decision on paddy procurement.

Stating that development model of Telangana has become a role model for entire country, he said that the BJP was conspiring to confine the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to Telangana state only and created hurdles to development projects and welfare schemes. Our Chief Minister has proved that development of any state would become possible if the rules had commitment and dedication. He reminded that suicides of farmers and hunger deaths of weavers have became frequent incidents in Telangana before 2014. But, the initiatives of the Chief Minister have permanently solved these problems within a short span of time after formation of Telangana state. All sections of the people have been leading happy life in Telangana, he added. He said that the fruits of development programmes and welfare schemes were reaching to gondu gudems and tribal hamlets also. Now, Telangana state stood in top in development in the country.
