Adilabad: Collector Sikta Patnaik urged public representatives to partner in developmental activities and beautification works of the town.
She was speaking at a review meeting on Telanganaku Harita Haram, sanitation, drinking water and beautification with councilors and authorities of Adilabad municipality here on Tuesday. She was joined by municipal chairperson Jogu Premender.
Sikta underlined the need to participate in developmental programmes and works related to the beautification of Adilabad town. She stated that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who conducted a meeting with Collectors, gave directions and suggestions over many topics. The directions and suggestions were being informed to elected representatives and officials concerned, she added.
The IAS officer further said that everyone should take responsibility of protecting saplings to be planted under the forthcoming massive plantation drive. She stated that tree guards must be created for conserving the saplings. She asked the authorities of the civic body to take action against those who take up constructions flouting relevant norms.
The Collector told the officials of the municipality to take steps for keeping streets, drainages and roads clean. She ordered them to take measures to prevent the spread of seasonal epidemics. She stressed the need to maintain standards in constructing public toilets, crematoriums. She stated that LED lamps would be used for better illumination of the town.
Premender stated that Covid-19 pandemic slowed down developmental activities. He informed that 10 parks and 10 open-air gyms were being created in the town. Besides, beautification of junctions and formation of dividers was in progress. Works with regard to the integrated market would commence soon, he stated. He sought the cooperation of councilors in taking up developmental programmes.
Municipal commissioner Shailaja, Roads and Building Executive Engineer Narsaiah and many councilors were present.
