Kothagudem: District Collector MV Reddy instructed the Health and Revenue officials to take immediate measures to control the spread of Covid-19 in the district.
Referring to the 10 Covid positive cases recently reported in the district after a long time, he said if the coronavirus was found spreading further action would be taken against the concerned officials.
The Collector held a video conference in the evening hours with the officials of Health, Panchayat, Municipal and Irrigation departments including the representatives of SCCL, KTPS, Nava Bharat, ITC, Heavy Water Plant and other industries in the district.
Reddy said extensive inspections have to be conducted to check the spread of the virus. He wanted the officials to screen the motorists that were coming into the district from other places carrying goods as there were reports of the second wave of virus spread in other States.
Screening of migrant labourers, sanitation should to be carried out at high-risk places and the officials directed to educate people to avoid public gathering and wear face masks until the Covid comes fully under control.
