Kothagudem: A senior AITUC leader at Heavy Water Plant, Aswapuram in the district allegedly died by suicide.
According to CI Ashok Reddy, the deceased, Mulukuri Venkat Reddy (48), hanged himself at his residential quarters at Gautami Nagar Colony in the mandal headquarters at around midnight on Thursday when family members were not at home. The incident came to light on Friday.
Venkat Reddy worked as a senior technician at the Heavy Water Plant. Based on a complaint filed by his brother-in-law, K Pratap Reddy, a case was registered and an investigation was launched into the incident. It was said that the deceased took the extreme step due to health issues.
