Hyderabad: Members of the Telugu Association of Greater Cincinnati (Tarangini) and Hindu Society of Greater Cincinnati (HSGC) jointly performed Sri Sitarama Kalyanam at Cincinnati Hindu Temple on Sunday last with pomp and fervor. The Kalyanam was conducted after a gap of two years due to the pandemic. More than 500 devotees attended the Kalyanam, according to a press release here on Tuesday.
The temple priest Srinath Bhattarji conducted the kalyanam following all the steps wherein the statue of Lord Rama and goddess Sita were brought in traditional processions and the priest conducted the traditional ‘upanayanam and pelli choopulu’. Sponsors of the Kalyanam took part by doing different activities involved in kalyanam.
Tarangini Executive Committee (EC) member Shobhan Ponna, Dr. Dilip Bearelly, Rajitha Koneru, Hari Kothapalli and Partha Kopparti planned and coordinated the event. The executive committee thanked the devotees who participated in large numbers. The committee has also thanked Cincinnati Hindu Temple in making the event a grand success.
