Telangana Association of United Kingdom (TAUK) on Monday celebrated Bonalu festival as a low-key affair while following the local British Covid-19 guidelines.
The committee members offered Bonam at a local temple maintaining the social distancing norms. The association has been celebrating Telangana’s traditional festival for decades now.
“We prayed to the goddess to save and safeguard everyone across the world from the Covid-19 pandemic,” said TAUK Vice-President Shushmuna Reddy while thanking all the women who attended the festivities.
Bonalu festival is a combination of offering Bonam to the goddess, a thottelu procession and Durga pooja.
TAUK senior leader Naveen Reddy thanked MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha for her continuous support and encouragement for all TAUK activities since its inception.
The members appealed to people across the globe to follow the government guidelines to stay safe.
