TCA appeal to HCA top official seeking restraint
The TCA stated that despite HCA facing serious allegations of financial irregularities, adverse justice committee observations and pending criminal cases for nearly two decades
Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has submitted an urgent legal representation to Justice (Retd.) P. Naveen Rao, Single Member Committee overseeing HCA affairs, and to the BCCI, seeking immediate restraint on the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) from proceeding with its widely publicised “TG20 League”.
The TCA stated that despite HCA facing serious allegations of financial irregularities, adverse justice committee observations and pending criminal cases for nearly two decades, HCA is attempting to conduct a high-value franchise-based commercial league through a self-declared “TG20 Governing Council”, without mandatory approval of the HCA General Body and without producing any written approval or sanction from BCCI.
The TCA warned that such an unapproved league involving franchises, sponsorships, contracts and district branding poses an imminent risk of further misappropriation and criminal violations, while misleading players and stakeholders by falsely projecting statewide authority.
