Hyderabad: Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy hit out at Hyderabad Cricket Association president Mohd Azharuddin for filing a defamation case against them for pointing out corruption in the HCA.
Speaking after attending the summons issued by sessions court in the defamation case filed by Azharuddin, Gurava Reddy said they filed a counter in the civil suit in the matter. “This case is false and will not stand in the court of law. But the CBI charged match fixing case against Azhar will take its legal course and he will be punished by the law. Azhar should realise that he is still facing the CBI case and is yet to be acquitted by the CBI. We demand the State government and request the Union Ministry to put pressure on the CBI to complete the pending investigation,” he said.
He further added that the HCA should stop the infighting and implement the BCCI directions and collaborate with TCA to develop the cricket outside Hyderabad. “As per BCCI directions under Supreme Court consonance, both HCA and TCA should collaborate, which will help to form combined State teams for Telangana together in all BCCI domestic tournaments,” he said.
