Tadepalli: Municipal Administration minister Botsa Satyanarayana has alleged that the opposition Telugu Desam Party was trying to politicise the Nandyal incident where a family of four committed suicide due to alleged police harassment.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said that soon after the incident in which the family of Abdul Salam jumped before a moving train to end life, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy immediately took action which TDP president N. Chandababu Naidu never did during his regime. “Cases were booked against those involved in the incident under Section 306 but TDP lawyers at the instance of Chandrababu were defending the culprits stoutly in the court and moved bail petitions,”

He pointed out, wondering if offence under Sec. 306 was bailable.

The Chief Minister had advised that steps should be taken to cancel the bail, Botsa stated. While the government was trying to give houses to the poor, the TDP leaders are approaching courts and obstructing welfare and development programmes, he said.

Satyanarayana also gave a call to the people to seize the houses of TDP leaders for depriving them the benefit of housing.
