Mancherial: In a novel gesture, teachers of a government school on Wednesday came to the rescue of Class IX and a former student who accidentally drowned in Pranahita recently and belonging to Alugama village in Kotapalli mandal on Wednesday.
Headmaster of Bheemaram government high school Venkateshwar Rao handed over Rs 10,500 and 50 kg of rice to the bereaved kin of Ambala Vijayendrasai (15) and his brother Vamshivardhan (18) each who met a watery grave in the tributary of Godavari on January 17.
He said that they raised funds with the help of contributions made by teachers. Teachers of the school K Srimurthy, B Venugopal, R Shyamsundar and the development committee chairman of the institution Satyanarayana and many others were present.
