Teenaged girl killed by Instagram friend in Hyderabad
In a shocking incident, a teenaged girl from Miyapur was sexually assaulted and later killed by her friend at Maheshwaram.
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a teenaged girl from Miyapur was sexually assaulted and later killed by her friend at Maheshwaram.
The victim, aged 17 years, went missing from her house early this month. The family members made a complaint with the Miyapur police who registered a case of kidnapping on November 8 and began to track her down.
Meanwhile, the police took into custody one Vignesh alias Chintu (20) a friend of the victim on suspicion. On interrogation, the police found that Chintu had killed the girl in a company in Thukkuguda after sexually assaulting her and buried the body at an isolated place.
The victim came in contact with Chintu through Instagram and both became friends. The girl eventually decided to marry him and left her home early this month to meet Chintu at Uppuguda in old city.
Chintu asked the girl to stay with his friends Rasumalla Saketh and his wife Nandini at Chatrinaka until they find some comfortable place to stay. However, as days passed, the teenager pressurized him to get married. Due to the mounting pressure, Chintu purchased a garland and a mangalsutra at Balapur on November 8. He then headed home and in presence of his friends tied mangalsutra on the neck of the girl to make her believe that they had got married.
“On November 8 evening, Chintu who was waiting for an opportunity to kill the girl banged the head of the victim to a wall due to which she collapsed. He then strangulated the girl with a saree leading to her death and with the help of his friends shifted the body to Thukkuguda and dumped it at an isolated place,” said Miyapur Inspector, Kranthi Kumar.
The man after killing the victim, informed the victim’s parents over phone that she left for Miyapur after fighting with him. When the girl, did not reach Miyapur, the parents informed the police who then took into custody Chintu. On interrogation, the suspect admitted to killing the victim.
He was arrested and taken into custody.
