Sangareddy: A 11-year-old boy at Etigadda Sangam in Sadasivapet mandal had to get his right hand amputated after a massive electric shock he suffered from loose overhead electric lines.
According to villagers, the boy SK Rasul was playing on top of his home on Wednesday evening when he accidentally came in contact with live overhead electric lines. His elder sister Hussain Bi saved him by separating him from the electric line with a PVC pipe. Rasul, who sustained serious injuries, was shifted to government hospital in Sangareddy where the doctors had to amputate his right hand.
Rasul also sustained multiple burn injuries on his body and his condition is still critical.
Meanwhile, Rasul’s father Shafi alleged that they had complained to Electricity Department officials multiple times asking them to remove the overhead lines since they were hanging very close to the roof. But there was no action and now his son had nearly lost his life.
Demanding justice for their family, Shafi also sought action against negligent officials.
