Hyderabad: Family members of a 24-year-old housewife Kommaganti Yamuna, a resident of Narayanapuram, Thallada, Khammam district, who was declared brain dead, have given their consent to donate her organs to needy patients under State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

The young homemaker collapsed in her home at 10.56 am on November 27 and was declared brain dead at 12.23 am on November 30 by the attending team of doctors.

The husband of the deceased housewife, Mondithoka Kamalakar, gave his consent to donate her organs, according to a press release from Jeevandan said.

The surgeons retrieved one liver, two kidneys and lung (overall 4 organs) and allocated them to needy patients based on Jeevandan organ donation guidelines. Senior health officials from Jeevandan extended their gratitude to Kommaganti Yamuna’sfamily, whose noble decision has saved lives.
