Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had taken up intensified crackdown on corruption in 2025, by registering 199 cases and arresting 273 persons, including a significant number of government officials.
Most of the cases were trap-related, with 157 incidents leading to the arrest of 224 persons, of whom 176 were public servants.
The ACB also booked 15 cases involving disproportionate assets and 26 cases of other forms of criminal misconduct by government employees, resulting in further arrests.
As part of preventive and monitoring measures, ACB conducted 26 regular enquiries and carried out 54 surprise inspections at Sub-Registrar offices, RTA check posts, welfare hostels and other public offices.
During trap operations, officials seized over Rs 57 lakh, with nearly Rs 36 lakh returned to complainants. Assets worth more than Rs 96 crore were detected in disproportionate asset cases.
The Bureau obtained 115 government sanctions for prosecution and filed charge sheets against the accused. Emphasis was also placed on capacity building, with training programmes conducted for officers on surveillance, financial investigations and anti-corruption laws.
To strengthen public participation, ACB observed Anti-Corruption Week in December and introduced a ‘QR code’ based complaint system to enable easy and secure reporting of bribery, especially from remote areas.
The ACB urged citizens to report corruption through its toll-free number 1064, social media platforms or by visiting ACB offices.
