Peddapalli: Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths trapped the Chief Planning Officer while accepting bribe from a civil contractor at his office here on Saturday.
According to ACB police, Purivarthy Venkata Narayana, Chief Planning Officer, demanded Rs 40,000 from a civil contractor Bhudhe Thirupathy to process the sanction proceedings of the bills pertaining to the work executed by the complainant.
Not interested to pay bribe, Thirupathy, a native of Godavarikhani, approached ACB, who hatched a plan and trapped CPO while accepting the amount at his office.
