Telangana adds nearly 10,000 more engineering seats for 2025-26
The Telangana government has increased the total number of engineering seats for the 2025–26 academic year by 9,433, raising the total count to 116,877. A significant portion of this increase 72 is in Computer Science and allied programmes.

Hyderabad: The State government has enhanced engineering seats by nearly 10,000 for the academic year 2025-26. Initially, a total of 1,07,444 seats had been granted permission. However, the government recently increased them by 9,433, taking the total to 1,16,877.
As per the information released by the Technical Education department, seats in the CSE and allied programmes went up by 6,810, which accounts for 72 percent of the total increased seats.
For this academic year, 83,622 seats in the CSE and allied programmes are up for grabs. Similarly, 22,557 seats are available in the Electronics and Electrical Engineering programmes.
Of the total approved engineering seats, 90,921 are under the convenor quota and are filled via the TG EAPCET 2025 web-based counselling. The remaining seats are filled under the management quota by private engineering colleges.
In the first-phase of counselling, 59,980 seats have already been filled, leaving 30,941 seats for the second phase of counselling.
Web options for second-phase counselling will be available on Sunday and seats will be provisionally allotted on or before July 30. Payment of tuition and self-reporting online via the website can be done between July 30 and August 1.
Candidates have to physically report at the allotted colleges between July 31 and August 2. The final phase of counselling, with registrations, commences on August 5.
