Farmers staging a protest against the GHMC's move to open a dump yard at Pyaranagar village in the mandal.
Sangareddy: The proposed dump yard site of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will fall under the Indian Airforce Academy’s (IAF) Airforce Academy flying zone.
Since the dump yard would attract birds, the Airforce Academy officials have written to Sangareddy Collector Valluru Kranthi asking to shift the dump yard from the location to find an early solution to the issue.
In a letter addressed to the Collector, Wing Commander, Academy Aerospace Safety and Inspection Officer, Subham Mishra wrote that the dump yard site would fall under the local flying area of the training establishment.
Mishra said the dump yard proposed between Pyaranagar and Nallavalli villages would attract numerous small, medium and large birds which would pose a danger to both the aircraft and human life. He requested the Collector to resolve the issue early by shifting the dump yard to another place.
Farmers from Gummadidala have already been protesting against the proposed dump yard. However, the GHMC has been going ahead with its plans.
