Telangana allows registration of eligible 22-A properties with valid permissions

The Telangana government has allowed registration of open plots, houses and flats listed under 22-A, provided they have valid statutory permissions. District committees headed by Collectors will examine cases, while eligibility will depend on land records, permissions and legal issues.

Hyderabad: The State government announced decision to allow registration of open plots, houses and flats covered in the 22-A prohibited lands list, provided they have valid layout, building or apartment permissions from GHMC, HMDA, DTCP, municipalities or other local bodies.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the Revenue department had issued orders to facilitate immediate registrations of such properties. Applicants will have to submit a link document for transactions undertaken after obtaining the required permissions.

The decision follows Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s Assembly assurance on September 16 to address 22-A issues through a fast-track mechanism.
Srinivas Reddy said properties would not be treated alike and their eligibility would be assessed based on the nature of land, available records, statutory permissions and legal issues.

District-level committees headed by Collectors will examine and resolve problems arising during the registration process. The committees will include the District Registrar and representatives of HMDA, municipalities or rural local bodies.

The Minister also cited steps taken on regularisation of houses in 64 colonies in Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts under GO 118 and Singareni workers’ houses under GO 76.
