Adilabad: A 47-year-old farmer died allegedly by suicide as he was reportedly depressed over financial distress caused by crop failure, at Kuchulapur village in Thalamadugu mandal on Sunday night. With this incident, the district has recorded 10 farmer suicides in the past eight months.

Police said Mukkera Santosh took the extreme step around 2.30 am, apparently unable to cope with the mounting debt incurred from cultivating various crops across five acres. He reportedly suffered heavy losses after the cotton crop failed due to unfavourable weather conditions.
