Hyderabad: The Telangana Basketball Association (TBA) has announced the launch of the Telangana Junior Basketball League (TJBL), a first-of-its-kind professional platform in the state dedicated exclusively to young basketball talent.
The league will feature under-15 and under-18 boys and girls categories, marking a significant milestone in the development of grassroots basketball in Telangana.
The TJBL will include six city-based franchises: Hyderabad Hurricanes, Ranga Reddy Rulers, Nalgonda Ninjas, Vikarabad Predators, Warangal Wildfires and Medak Monsters.
In an overwhelming response from across the state, approximately 3,000 young athletes have already registered for the league. The official player trials will be conducted over three days, from April 10 to 12 at the Dream Basketball Academy, Hyderabad.
Players will undergo an intensive evaluation process during the trials, after which selected athletes will be drafted into the six franchises.
The league is scheduled to be held in June 2026, with selected players undergoing a month-long training camp in May to prepare for the competition.
