Hyderabad: In view of the incessant heavy rains and red alert for Telangana State, Chairman and Managing Director of TSSPDCL G Raghuma Reddy instructed the Disaster Management wing, officials and staff to be available in their respective headquarters to meet emergency works with sufficient men and material.
Raghuma Reddy, who held a video conference with Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Ltd (TSSPDCL) officials here on Monday, reviewed the impact of continuous rainfall on the power supply distribution network. He instructed them to keep 30 poles in every section office, hire 20 additional staffers in every division, and also monitor the power supply position in coordination with officials of GHMC Control Room and district control rooms. Chief general managers and superintending engineers of all zones and circles participated in the conference.
Power supply was normal in Greater Hyderabad and in rural circles except for damage to 13 electric poles and 5 distribution transformers in some areas, he said.
The CMD appealed to electricity consumers and general public to follow safety precautions during rains like avoid touching bent or damaged electric poles, avoid driving over fallen powerlines, not touch conductors fallen on vehicles, trees or other objects, not touch water near uprooted powerlines or other electrical equipment. He also advised farmers to be extra careful during rains and keep their cattle away from poles, powerlines and other electric equipment, not to take shelter under trees and overhead lines during heavy rains.
In case of any electrical emergency, consumers and citizens may file their complaints at 100/1912/FOC or special control room numbers 73820 72104, 73820 72106, 73820 71574, and through company’s mobile app, Twitter account, Facebook page and website, he said.
