Rajanna-Sircilla: BJP State president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday alleged that Telangana was becoming an atheists’ State. Sanjay Kumar on Monday visited Vemulawada Rajarajeshwaraswamy temple and had a darshan of the presiding deity.
Later, speaking to reporters, BJP president said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had promised to give Rs 400 crore for the development of the temple but money was not released. Except showing imaginary pictures, the Chief Minister had done nothing. It was a tradition of devotees to visit Vemulawada shrine before biennial Sammakka-Sarakka jatara. But the government had not reviewed the arrangements so far. He alleged that devotees were facing severe hardships.
He found fault with temple authorities for not maintaining sanitation properly though Covid cases are rampant. In-charge officials were being continued in the temple Executive Officer post since the formation of separate Telangana State.
According to their plan, officials were changing EOs just before every festival to escape from responsibilities, he alleged and questioned why the government was neglecting the temple as well as poor devotees.
