Bhongir: Tension prevailed for a while atop Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple here on Sunday after a boy’s head got stuck in the grills of the Rs.150 darshan queue lines.
Seven-year-old Dayakar and his parents, residents of Boduppal, had arrived at the temple for darshan of the lord and stood in the queue for darshan. It was then that the boy’s head accidentally got stuck in the grills. The temple staff and security were immediately alerted by the devotees.
The staff along with the security then successfully managed to pull the boy’s head out of the grills. The entire exercise went about for 45 minutes and the devotees and parents heaved a sigh of relief after the boy was rescued without any injury.

Bus and car head on collision
In another incident, a bus and a car were involved in a head-on collision on the ghat road leading to the temple. With Sunday being a holiday, devotees turned up in large numbers for the darshan at the temple.
As a car from Hyderabad was heading up towards the temple, a TGRTC bus was coming down towards the bus-stand on the ghat road. However, both the vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in severe damage to the car’s front portion. Temple officials said none were injured in the incident.
There are two ghat roads for the temple. While one was constructed exclusively to facilitate movement of vehicles towards the temple, the other was developed to permit traffic down the hill and towards the bus stand from the temple.
At present, only one ghat road is being used and vehicles heading towards the temple and those coming down the hill are made to use the same road. During holidays and other occasions, there is unprecedented rush at the temple and traffic management on the ghat road turns into a challenge for the temple authorities.
Devotees have been appealing to the temple management to operate the second ghat road for their convenience but for reasons better known to the officials, traffic is not being permitted on the second ghat road
EO violates rules, sports t-shirt and pant
Meanwhile, courting controversy the temple Executive Officer Bhaskar Rao arrived at the temple sporting a t-shirt and track pants. As per temple rules, it is mandatory for devotees performing ‘Arjitha’ sevas to wear only traditional attire atop the temple. But Bhaskar Rao on Sunday turned up in casual dress and violated the rules, devotees complained.
